National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.The Eisenhower School is recruiting for a faculty member to serve in the Department of Defense Strategy, Acquisition and Resourcing The incumbent is responsible for conducting education and continuing research in the fields of strategic acquisition and resourcing at the national level for the CJCS, the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other Defense agencies.
NDU develops joint warfighters and other national security leaders through rigorous academics, research and engagement to serve the common defense.
The Eisenhower School prepares selected military and civilians for strategic leadership and success in developing our national security strategy and in evaluating, marshaling, and managing resources in the execution of that strategy.
This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 3 years with the possibility for extension.

Develops and conducts graduate-level seminar instruction and lectures in the strategic acquisition and resourcing core course and the Senior Acquisition Course electives, applying instructional approaches that stimulate student engagement.
Plays a leadership role in the planning and development of curriculum material on government acquisition and national security/defense resourcing, which includes senior-level decision-making processes, the integration of strategy and resourcing, the analysis of defense resourcing options and policy governing requirements definition, budgeting and acquisition policy and program management.
Participates in the planning and development of the ES curriculum and serves as the principal proponent for overall objectives, content, and methods for the Strategic Acquisition and Resourcing (SAR) core course, Senior Acquisition Course (SAC )electives, and other portions of the ES curriculum.
Mentors, counsels, and advises students in role of primary faculty advisor to several students and serves as a research advisor.
Assesses students' learning using a variety of assessment methodologies.
Serves as research adviser to individual students and student groups performing research on topics of academic interest relevant to national security decision making, acquisition, and other aspects of national security strategy.
Background or Security Investigation: This is a Non Critical Sensitive position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security determination to occupy a Non Critical Sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.
Education Requirement: A master's degree is required, a doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree preferred, in acquisition, systems engineering, logistics, national security, public policy, public administration, political science, or a related discipline
