The National Science Foundation (NSF) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program Director in the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS), Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS), Arlington, VA.
DMS supports research at the frontiers of discovery that achieves NSF’s mission “to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; and to secure the national defense.” Modes of support include awards to individual investigators and small groups, workforce training grants, and a portfolio of national mathematical sciences research institutes. The Division supports research in core areas of mathematics and statistics as well as interdisciplinary research that crosses traditional boundaries of the physical, biological, social, and engineering sciences. S. science, mathematics, engineering, and technology education at all levels. NSF is relocating to Alexandria, VA. In late summer of 2017, NSF will begin the transition from its current location in Arlington, VA to 2415 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22314. The new location is adjacent to a Metro station (Eisenhower Avenue on the Yellow Line) and there is ample parking in the area. There are several amenities nearby, such as restaurants, hotels, and shops.
