This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1736P01and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing,Air National Guard.NOTE: This position is subject to rotating or night shift work.
NOTE: Individual selected will receive an Indefinite Appointment, and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or the position no longer being encumbered.
NOTE: PCS Funds may be authorized dependent upon funds available at the time of hire.
NOTE: Known promotion potential to WG-11.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-5/8/11, This position is located in an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Aircraft Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Weapons Element (Flight Line) in Tucson, AZ. The primary purpose of the position is to troubleshoot, repair, install, modify, test and adjust aircraft ordnance systems, equipment and components. On and/or off-equipment inspection, modification, overhaul, troubleshooting and repair capability of weapons release and gun systems; verifies and analyzes malfunctions, troubleshoots, tests, inspects and loads/unloads conventional munitions; installs/removes weapons delivery equipment, launchers and gun systems.
