This incumbent serves as a Program Support Assistant for the Chief, Nutrition & Food Service (N&FS), within the Dayton VAMC in Dayton, OH. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the overall N&FS office operation and understand its relationship to the delivery of all nutritional care and other services, and dealing with problems associated with complex administrative work. The incumbent is knowledgeable of Fund Control Points (FCP) and reporting status of accounts as it pertains to Service budget management and reporting.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Time-in-grade: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06 level.

Specialized Experience: Experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to the working as a secretary in an office or medical center, managing fund control points, auditing and reconciliations, utilizing purchase cards, administers service level management programs.
