Simulations help our Soldiers hone their skills, rehearse their missions and return to their families safely when their missions are complete. The Army Contracting Command (ACC) - Orlando provides customers with value-added acquisition business solutions that support the joint Warfighter. ACC-Orlando responds quickly to critical, emerging requirements with innovative acquisition and technology solutions and puts the power of simulation into the hands of America's Warfighters. Contract Specialists effect acquisition of equipment, services, and supplies; prescribe rules and regulations on acquisition matters; provide specialized acquisition-related functional services; and maintain capability for monitoring deliverables against contractual requirements.
"This position is covered by pay lanes. The pay lane for this position is NH-03-PL2 with a salary range of $72,168 to $111,560 with locality.This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-3 broadband with an advertised pay range representing the lowest equivalent GS step 1 to the highest equivalent GS step 10 in the broadband. The Army Contracting Command has pay lanes within the broadband. This position is covered by pay lanes and is in pay lane NH3/PL2. Locality is set at 15.06%"

The 24 semester hours requirement can be obtained within the bachelor's degree or in addition to the degree. B) Applicants can also meet the minimum qualifications if they have one year of specialized experience at the NH-02 pay band level or equivalent grade level, AND meet the criteria outlined in the Grandfathering Provisions described below: The Grandfathering Provision applies to current DoD personnel, in any occupational series, who has served on or before September 30, 2000 as follows, may be appointed to a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT without meeting these educational requirements: Served in a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT in any Federal agency, or served as a military member in a comparable military occupational specialty. (Applicants using the Grandfathering Provisions must attach a copy of their most recent SF-50 if they are a current Federal employee or a copy of the DD-214 (Member 4) if qualifying based on military service. If the documents are not attached you will be disqualified).

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience performing pre-award and post-award contracting functions and contract management including contract formation, solicitation, negotiations, cost and price analysis, award, contract administration, termination and close-out for a variety of contracts.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next grade (or equivalent).
