ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
These are GS-12/13 positions that are located at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Whiteman AFB, MO United States 2 vacancies
Incumbents will be assigned to Position Description Number D0610000 in SPMD 4141
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: These positions are Temporary/Temporary Promotion NTE One Year vacancies in the Excepted Service. If selected individual(s) is in a Permanent status (Tenure 1 or 2), that individual(s) will be placed on a temporary promotion and will retain their permanent status. If selected individual(s) is in an Indefinite status (Tenure 3), that individual(s) will be placed on a temporary promotion and will retain their Indefinite status. Any other individual(s) selected for this position will be placed into a Temporary appointment. Management retains the right to terminate the temporary appointment or temporary promotion action without further notice. Permanent and/or Indefinite status individual will return to their former position when the temporary promotion is terminated. This is a non-bargaining unit position.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED: These are Excepted Service positions that require active membership in a compatible assignment in the Missouri Army National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member in the Missouri Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Missouri Army National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: WARRANT OFFICER
Since these positions are temporary in nature, the compatibility requirements will be waived for a period of time not to exceed one year. Selecting official must verify that selected individuals are currently assigned to a military unit in the Missouri National Guard and that the selection does not create grade inversion.
Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
IMPORTANT NOTES: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized for these positions. Required Security Clearance is Noncritical Sensitive.
Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
Plans and implements flight training and instruction for rated pilots in accordance with the Aircrew Training Manual (ATM). Adjusts course material to meet individual needs. For a substantial portion of the time (at least 20%), performs one or more of the following: a. trains, instructs and evaluates pilots in operating aircraft using advanced instrument flight techniques; b. instructs pilots in methods of instruction and evaluates instructor pilots proficiency to engage in flight instruction; c. instructs pilots in operating advanced attack helicopters or heavy multi-engine advanced transport helicopters. Trains pilots in the full range of aircraft maneuvers required in combat situations. Conducts refresher, mission and continuation training in light fixed wing or utility and observer helicopters. Trains pilots in basic and advanced techniques required to support the pilot's unit mission. Conducts training flights involving a substantial degree of hazard such as training helicopter pilots in advanced flight techniques required in combat situations, tactical flying at night in all weather conditions and with the use of night vision devices, flight maneuvers which take advantage of the terrain.
