The Transportation Assistant position is located in the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) section of Patient Business Service at the Chillicothe, Ohio VA Medical Center.
The incumbent is the facility-level primary contact for Veterans with transportation needs.
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Some evenings, weekends and holidays may be required.

Physical Requirements:
The majority of the work is sedentary; however, some walking and light lifting is necessary to perform duties.
Mental/Emotional Requirements:
The incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that will require a mature attitude and collective reasoning. Stress is related to the high volume of work, the need for accuracy, the frequency of interruptions and the ever-changing demands of programs.
Time-in-Grade:
Applicants who are current Federal employees and who have held a GS grade at any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. (If you have not held a GS grade in the past 52 weeks, this requirement does not apply to you.) Applicants in this category must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-05 level or higher.
