This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1635000 and is part of the MA ANG 104th FW, National Guard. This is a Bargaining Unit position. Tier I: All current MA ANG tenure 1 and 2 technicians and MA ANG permanent AGRs
Tier II: All current MA ANG members, to include tenure 3 and tenure 0 technicians, traditional guardsmen, and temporary AGRs
Tier III: All individuals eligible for immediate enlistment into the MA ANG
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position Constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. As a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC, WG-8602-10, work involves the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, modification and testing of conventional, modified, and experimental aircraft engines, their components, assemblies, and subassemblies. It also covers work involving engine accessories such as starters, generators, anti-icers, and fuel control devices when such assignments are incidental to work on the completed engine. Works also involves the review of engine/component records to determine cause of failure
and the extent of disassembly and repair required in returning engine and/or component to operational condition.
