Incumbent will be assigned to Position Description Number D1285000 in SPMD 5224
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This position is a Temporary Promotion vacancy NTE One Year in the Excepted Service. Management retains the right to terminate the temporary promotion action or convert to permanent status without further notice or competition. This temporary promotion can be extended beyond one year up to five years as mission allows. Selected individual will return to their former position when the temporary promotion is terminated. This is a bargaining unit position.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED: This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible assignment in the Missouri Army National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member in the Missouri Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Missouri Army National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: WARRANT OFFICER/ENLISTED
Since the position is temporary in nature, the compatibility requirements will be waived for a period of time not to exceed one year. Selecting official must verify that selected individual is currently assigned to a military unit in the Missouri National Guard and that the selection does not create grade inversion.
Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
Maximum Military Grade CW4 (W-4)
IMPORTANT NOTES: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized for this position. Required Security Clearance is Noncritical Sensitive.
Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.

Inspects a large variety of heavy-duty mobile equipment (i.e., combat, tactical, etc.) and automotive vehicles. Inspect heavy artillery, small arms, powered support and other equipment or components of equal or lesser complexity. Inspects complex, interrelated mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical systems, equipment and their components while in operation or in a standby condition. Inspects and performs tests to braking, steering, and differential systems. Uses specially designed testing methods and test equipment. Inspects equipment to determine needed repairs. Utilized established Maintenance Expenditure Limits (MEL) to evaluate economic feasibility of repair(s). Prepares lists of needed repairs, parts, and man-hours authorized. Performs in-process inspections to assure that equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
