    This is a GS-04/05/06 position that is located at the HSC 935th Aviation Support Battalion in Springfield, MO United States 1 vacancy

    Incumbent will be assigned to Position Description Number D1182000 in SPMD 2748

    APPOINTMENT FACTORS:  This is an Indefinite Excepted Service position. Employment can be terminated with a 30 day notice. Management has the right to convert this position to permanent status without re-advertising.  This is a bargaining unit position.

    NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED:  This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible assignment in the Missouri Army National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member in the Missouri Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Missouri Army National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.     MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment.

    Maximum Military Grade – SSG (E-6)

    Enlisted – CMF 42 or 92; or predominate MOS of the organization

    Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

    IMPORTANT NOTES: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized for this position. Required Security Clearance is Noncritical Sensitive.

    Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.

    In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the indefinite appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status.  Under an indefinite appointment, the employment is subject to a 30 day termination notice.

    Provides technical guidance and assistance to subordinate elements and other staff sections in planning, acquiring, preparing, conducting, and documenting individual and collective training. Assists in the preparation of training directives, operations orders, deployment plans, and readiness reports. Assists in preparing training schedules, circulars, and yearly training plans. Performs research necessary to create or modify the units' mission essential task lists (METL) in accordance with critical wartime mission requirements. Assists with forecasting individual training requirements and coordinating with higher headquarters to obtain school training quotas (Service, NCO, Special, etc.). Monitors the execution of organizational training quotas and makes recommendations for reallocation. Provides assistance to training personnel within the command in scheduling training areas, obtaining training aids, requesting equipment, and other required materials. Procures, designs, reproduces and distributes a variety of training aids, map overlays, and transparencies necessary for the efficient operation and training of the organization. Assists in the preparation of yearly training budget requirements. Inputs requirements into the automated funds management requisition and authorization system. Performs other duties as assigned.
