**This position has Individual Occupational Requirements**
· The primary purpose of this position is to serves as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) / Human Performance Program Coordinator (HPPC) supporting physical performance, readiness and rehabilitation elements of the Guardian Angel (GA) Preservation of the Force and Family Program (POTFF) initiative
· Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) subject matter expert. Utilizes philosophy and principles of kinesiology, exercise physiology, and athletic training and strength and conditioning
· Performs initial evaluation, designs individualized training programs and records for Guardian Angel & Battlefield Airmen.
· Provides clear, concise analyses of performance and rehabilitation results quarterly through direct observations, interviews, surveys, and focused collection of strength and conditioning performance metrics for individuals in the unit
· Provides input to organization regarding supply needs and optimal equipment purchases
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. A current strength and conditioning certification (i.e., TSAC-F, CSCS, PES) approved by a nationally recognized professional organization such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), or similar organization, is highly desired.
2. One or more years of experience working with a Guardian Angel or special tactics squadron or other special operations unit as strength and conditioning coach is highly desired.
3. A Master's degree from an accredited university program in physical therapy, athletic training, exercise science, exercise physiology, biomechanics, education, nutrition/dietetics, or other closely related field is highly desired.
4. Knowledge of Fusionetics, Train Heroic and/or SPEAR is highly desired.
5. Shall be physically proficient to demonstrate all prescribed exercises and techniques. May be asked to attend training to better understand SOP performance and injuries. Should be able to hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments, and be able to lift and manipulate loads and plates up to 50 lbs.
6. Employee may be asked to pass the USAF physical fitness test at the male/female 30-39-years of age standards and complete recurring USAF training and mobility requirements to fulfill AEF taskings, wear and use personal protective equipment as required and provided by the employer.
7. Incumbent is required to maintain Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
8. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; a higher requirement may be contingent upon unit requirements.
9. Work requires occasional TDY to include U.S. and foreign military installations on military or commercial aircraft, attendance at professional conferences and participation in systems acquisition meetings.
10. Knowledge of standards defined by AFI 10-3502v1 and v2, CMR, and the optimal performance threshold is highly desirable.
11. This is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent will be subject to random testing for drug use.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include professional knowledge of principles and practices of health sciences (anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, nutrition, rehabilitation) and specialized training in the techniques and methodologies of strength and conditioning to develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive and multi-faceted Human Performance Program for operational readiness of tactical athletes; knowledge of pertinent national, agency-level and local guidelines as well as general health, safety, and medical concepts and requirements to conduct effective physical fitness activities; administer health screening and fitness assessments; promote health, wellness and nutrition; and prevent injury to exercise participants.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-07 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Professional knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques necessary to develop, implement, and evaluate a strength and conditioning/human performance program and education, and serve as a training resource advisor/consultant.
2. Knowledge of Special Operations tactical concepts and missions sufficient to understand, plan, deliver and analyze rescue operator's physical requirements and how strength and conditioning impact mission accomplishment.
3. Knowledge of medical conditions and terminology as well as of human behavior change theories, motivational strategies, and counseling techniques to resolve the most difficult problems associated with uncooperative or unmotivated airmen undergoing rehabilitation.
4. Knowledge and skill in the use of state-of-the-art computer-based software and other instructional/evaluative material, highly specialized strength and conditioning equipment, facility recommendations and practices, training aids and devices applicable to program objectives, training effectiveness, and efficiency.
5. Skill in written and oral communication to advise, counsel, influence and make recommendations to management officials concerning medical, health, and administrative aspects of the Human Performance Program.
6. Skill in data analysis, fact finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems; ability to effectively plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
