NOAA is seeking bright, innovate, results-oriented students who are pursuing a degree or certificate program in an accredited educational institution for our Intern Program. The NOAA Pathways Internship Program targets students accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled in a degree-seeking or certificate program at least on a half time basis. (Applicants who do not meet the definition of student will not be considered).
Definition of Student: Student means an individual accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, or certificate) in a qualifying academic institution, on a full or half-time basis. Half-time is defined by the educational institution is which the student is enrolled. Students need not be in actual physical attendance, so long as all other requirements are met. An individual who needs to complete less than the equivalent of half an academic, vocational, or technical course-load; in the class enrollment period immediately prior to graduating; is still considered a student for purposes of this program.
This vacancy may be used to fill other Student Intern (Biological Sciences), ZT-0499-2 positions throughout NOAA. The position must be alike (e.g. within the same geographic locations, same grade/band requires the same qualifications as indicated in this vacancy announcement).
Given that these opportunities will be of a limited duration of 120 days for the summer only, those selected must be available to enter on duty no later than June 1, 2017.
Applicants must be available to work in Arcata, California (on a full-time basis for the duration of the appointment).

As a Student Intern (Biological Sciences), you will perform the following duties:
College Transcript: Applicants must submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses, course title, and number of credit hours. You may submit an unofficial copy of the transcript at the initial phase of the application process, but an official certified copy must be received before you can report to duty.
Qualifying Education Institution: Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education: http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/.
Proof of Enrollment – A letter from the educational institution indicating acceptance may be used as proof of enrollment for those students who are entering college for the first time or continuing studies at a new college or university. An official transcript will be required before you can report to duty.
