NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.


REMARKS:TEMPORARY PROMOTION Position opened to current employees in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program. Selected applicant will receive a temporary promotion Not to Exceed 1 Year. Should the need for temporary time limitations placed on this position no longer exist, the Temporary Promotion could be converted to a permanent action without further competition. Additionally, applicant selected can be returned to the position held prior to the Temporary Promotion when the temporary action is no longer needed.


DUTY LOCATION: MATES, Fort Pickett, Blackstone, VA  23824

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:  Excepted Service Male/Female Warrant Officers (W3/CW3-W5/CW5), and Officers (Not to Exceed O3/CPT)

- All qualified Male/Female Warrant Officers (W3/CW3-W5/CW5), and Officers (Not to Exceed O3/CPT) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.



  

MILITARY CRITERIA:  Applicant must be qualified and eligible for award of an MOS as follows: WO BR: 12, 13, 14, 19, 25, 91, 92, 94; W MOS: 882A; O BR: 88A, 90A, 91A, 92A

MILITARY ASSIGNMENT:  Applicant selected for this military technician position must occupy a military assignment in the Virginia Army National Guard that ensures proper grade, unit, and MOS prior to placement. Must be able to hold and obtain an SECRET Security Clearance

Duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Assigns tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Performs the non-supervisory work of the function, as needed, such as performing maintenance and/or inspection tasks on equipment, equipment operations, or other non-supervisory functions. Ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures established for the activity. Ensures use of quality conformant products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. May serve as a member of the Command Maintenance Evaluation (COMET).
