Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Exerts light to moderate physical effort while performing duties. May lift or carry items that weigh up to 50 pounds. Heavier items are moved with assistance from others or with weight handling equipment. Work requires considerable standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working in cramped conditions.
Work may be performed outside or inside. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Hazards in the work area include possible dangers from fire, explosion, and noxious fumes.
Work requires exposure to high noise levels.
Shift work and/or overtime may be required.
May be required to be certified in the handling and/or removing of hazardous materials and operating the reclamation plant.
Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
