This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
This position is located in the Intelligence function of the Operations Group at
an Air National Guard (ANG) flying unit. The primary purpose of the position is
to perform specialized duties and to train assigned military unit members in the
duties and functions associated with operational intelligence.

WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E4/SrA - E6/TSgt) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Air National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II All qualified Virginia Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E4/SrA - E6/TSgt), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia Air National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: This position is supervised by an O4/Maj Grade inversion will not be authorized. Compatible AFSC: 1N000. Must be able to hold and obtain an SECRET Security Clearance
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Senior Intelligence Officer in assuring the Intelligence function maintains a capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations. Incumbent is recognized as an organization expert within functional assignment. Coordinates training requirements with Gaining Command Intelligence Section. Assists in training and testing aircrew on worldwide threats that potentially could affect mission success to include surface-to-air missile (SAM), air-to-air missile (AAM), anti-aircraft artillery (AAA), and aircraft threats. Provides clarity to mission training and employment taking into account worldwide threat employment capabilities, tactics, techniques, and procedures. Trains aircrews on matters such as survival, evasion, resistance, and escape; search and rescue; and visual recognition studies and techniques. Develops scenarios for unit training missions. Performs assigned operational intelligence research and analysis, and, based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations. Manages the Intelligence Mobility Program to guarantee all unit personnel and equipment is properly prepared for worldwide tasking and deployments. Provides recommendations to the Unit Mobility Officer with intelligence information concerning the deployment location and advises on special security requirements for deploying sensitive material and equipment.
