Duties

The incumbent is assigned to the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Center at the Seattle VA Medical Center. This position requires a social worker who has experience at the advanced practice level working with highly complex newly injured spinal cord patients.

The Social Worker functions as an independent advanced practice professional and is responsible to provide a variety of services for Veterans, to include but not limited to:

- Independently provide clinical, psychosocial and case management services at an advanced practice level to eligible veterans and family members;

- Conduct psychosocial assessments;

- Treatment planning with other disciplines;

- Provides consultation and guidance to colleagues and staff;

- Implement the written treatment plan;

- Develops and implements methods for measuring effectiveness of social work practices and services;

- Provide Case management;

 - Provide a full range of social work services within commonly accepted standards of social work practice;

- Document social work interventions and activities;

- Other Duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am–4:30pm, some evenings and weekend may be required.
