MILITARY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED

THIS POSITION IS A TITLE 32 FEDERAL EXCEPTED TECHNICIAN POSITION.  YOU MUST BE OR BECOME A MILITARY MEMBER IN THE NEW HAMPSHIRE AIR NATIONAL GUARD.

This announcement is being advertised concurrently with AGR announcement #NH ANG 17-007.

Individuals from Area II or Area III will be placed on probationary status for one year and then convert to permanent.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is a Title 32 federal technician excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment  in the National Guard . Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate military membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade(s) listed in this announcement.

This position is located in the Plans and Resources section of a Base Communications unit.

DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1 = Permanent or indefinite technicians currently employed with the New Hampshire National Guard.
Area 2 = AGRs or traditional/M-Day soldiers and airmen currently serving in the New Hampshire National Guard.

Area 3

= All individuals eligible for immediate military membership in the New Hampshire National Guard as a military member, in the grade/rank listed in this announcement. Duties

The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a technical advisor to local base information technology (IT) and communications users in the area of policy and plans as related to IT and communications systems. This involves planning, development, management, and enforcement of approved ANG and local information technology (IT) and communications architecture. Serves as the lead manager of IT and communications projects, acquisition and control of equipment and services at Flying Wing, tenants and geographically separated units if assigned. Sixty percent of the work performed involves Information Technology issues and systems with the remaining forty percent involving telecommunications specific issues and systems.
