As an Information Technology Specialist your duties will include, but not be limited to:
· Advising and assisting management in the overall design, expansion, modification, redesign, conversion, and implementation of the system for which the organization is responsible.
· As a recognized expert in both programming and systems design methods and techniques, meets with professional and industrial organizations in furthering the state-of-the-art.
· Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing local and wide area network hardware and software.
· Providing advice and assistance to customers, troubleshoots all problems, and provides support to the customer with minimal disruption to normal business activities.
· Designing, writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications that meet technical and functional requirements; designing and developing efficient and effective applications through optimal use of reusable components

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-12 level you will need to have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves: 1) Performing the implementation of new server hardware and software; 2) Analyzing customer requirements to develop application/program specifications; 3) Experience in programming and analysis to modify existing applications or develop new applications; 4) Defining database structures utilized by developed applications.
