In this position you will act in a Deputy Director capacity and you will be responsible for supervising emergency preparedness activities. Typical assignments include:
You qualify for this position at the GS-15 level (starting salary $131,767) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 level, that demonstrates 1) Managing assignment(s) in the areas of incident management and incident support; 2) Leading efforts related to the implementation and application of National Incident Management System (NIMS) for training and operational environments; 3) Managing credentialing, resource typing, job titles/position qualifications and preparedness tools in the aid of defining and categorizing capabilities requested and deployed in incidents that are consistent with NIMS and support the National Preparedness System; and 4) Managing emergency services organization first and second line supervisors with experience in state and local government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and provides valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
