    About the Position:
    The Savannah District Office is located in the downtown historic district (largest in the nation) where you can live and walk to work. Gorgeous weather! Savannah is located on the Georgia/South Carolina border on the Atlantic Ocean and is easily accessible by I-95 and I-16. It is located approximately 89 miles from Charleston, SC, and 225 miles from Atlanta, GA. Savannah is home to Hunter Army Airfield and is 30 miles from Ft. Stewart, in Hinesville, GA. Savannah/Chatham County boasts a diversified industry and the population is approximately 240,000.

    Responsibilities

    Works under general supervision, receiving instructions in general terms as to the scope of assignments. Works on own responsibility with wide latitude for the exercise of initiative, judgment and independent action in accomplishment of his assignments. Keeps supervisor apprised of controversial problems. Completed work is reviewed for compliance with pertinent criteria and effectiveness of results achieved.

    • Serves as employee responsible for structural design of assigned Military projects or portions of Civil Works projects. 
    • This includes design of reinforced concrete and structural steel framed buildings, concrete gravity dam sections, miter, tainter, and vertical lift gates, concrete retaining walls, building foundations, bridges, and other structural engineering assignments of a complex nature.

    Occasional travel - Business travel up to 10 percent may be required
