NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Select will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
REMARKS: This position is being advertised as an indefinite appointment and applicant selected may be released at any time. In the event a permanent employee is accepted for this indefinite position, there will be a change in their tenure from permanent to indefinite. This position is located in the Sortie Generation Section of the
Aircraft Generation Division within the Logistics Directorate of an Air
National Guard Flying Wing. Its purpose is to act as the crew chief with
responsibility for directing the total maintenance effort on individually
DUTY LOCATION: 192nd AMXS PAS, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Hampton, VA
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Excepted Service Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (Not to Exceed E6/TSgt)
WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (Not to Exceed E6/TSgt) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Air National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (Not to Exceed E6/TSgt), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
GROUP III- Individuals eligible for membership in the Virginia Air National Guard
MILITARY CRITERIA: Applicant must be qualified and eligible for qualification in the AFSC: 2A3X7. Must be able to maintain and hold an SECRET Security Clearance in the Virginia Air National Guard
MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: Applicant selected for this military technician position must occupy a military assignment in the Virginia Air National Guard that ensures proper grade, unit, and AFSC prior to placement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraft. Ensures aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems MIS) accurately reflect the air worthiness of the Aircraft. Performs in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publications. Plans, develops and conducts training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War (OOTW). Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental and housekeeping regulations. Performs other duties as assigned
