Air Reserve Technicians (ARTs) are part of the regular civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain active membership in an Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy ART positions. As members of reserve units, ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. In addition, they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Force Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
This is a 90-day quarterly register that is used to fill ART Executive Officer GS-0301-11 and GS-0301-12 vacancies at AFRC locations for the period 3 April 2017 through 30 June 2017. The next announcement will be posted the first week in July 2017. The beginning and ending salaries may vary depending on the location of position. This announcement covers multiple grade levels. Some positions may have promotion potential to a higher grade than the grade being filled.
Retired military are usually ineligible for membership in the Air Force Reserve. Retired military personnel who have active Air Force Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position and unit) on their application.

The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position is to serve as an Executive Officer or the group senior ART. As such, the incumbent will administer and direct the group's executive support functions and ensure that day-to-day operations comply with the policies of the senior ART and the command. Some of the duties are to:
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
(1) Incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve military requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily Art duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. (2) May be required to work uncommon tour of duty. (3) Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.(4) May be required to work overtime, unusual or extended tour of duty. (5) If you are selected for an ART Officer position, you will be required to sign a mobility agreement prior to appointment.
