The incumbent of this position will work a flextime work schedule.

This is a non-supervisory, non-bargaining unit position.

Serves as a Team Leader and ensures that the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team’s strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. Articulates and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assist the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution. Leads the team in: identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization; making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks; and ensuring that each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product. Trains or arranges for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects, and provide or arrange for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks. Monitors and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor’s instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met. Serves as coach, facilitator and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members.

Serves as a subject matter expert on all aspects of the most complex program productions. Responsible for the production values and aesthetic qualities of the production and has control of the artistic and creative aspects. Conceptualizes and designs complex program productions with innovative and creative formats. Develops and fine tunes topical program proposals to ensure the accuracy of all aspects of production in a timely manner. Coordinates production elements including coordination with set and graphic designers, directs the implementation of multiple visual and audio elements on cue.

Plans and manages multimedia projects involving the capture, edit, and presentation of information and cultural productions. Oversees the scheduling, writing, design, and production of selected media. Plans and manages products involving the capture, edit and presentation of information and cultural productions. This includes completion of productions such as video capture of webcasts, mini-documentaries, special programs, promotional materials and other related products for the Library.

Serves as an expert in multimedia systems, techniques, and technologies, digital format conversion, video capture, audio capture and enhancement, video content edit, and presentation technologies.

Provides advice and guidance to resolve, implement, or manage program or policy issues involving major areas of uncertainty in approach or methodology. Prepares short and long range planning guidance in accord with broad program policies and objectives. Prepares guidance based on analyses of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of substantive mission-oriented programs. Consults with management to prepare detailed plans, goals, objectives, requirements, and criteria for complex or high-value management processes and systems.
