The Cook position is in the Nutrition Care Division at Evans Army Community Hospital located on Fort Carson. As a Cook, the working areas are often uncomfortably warm and noisy. Incumbent is exposed to minor cuts, burns, bruises, and scalds. There is danger of slipping on floors which are wet from mopping and spilled liquids. Incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures of heat and cold from the hot kitchen to the refrigerated areas.

As a Cook at Evans Army Community Hospital you will be preparing limited breakfast foods that will involve grilling or frying. Perform regular and modified salad preparation tasks such as making fruit and vegetable salads; cutting, scraping, chopping, dicing, and peeling fruits and vegetables. You will be setting up and replenishing the salad bar in accordance to established procedures. Performs ingredient measurement tasks, weighing vegetables and fruits in accordance with instructions and directions provided. Performs patient tray service duties including the assembly of patient trays. Replenish food to service counters, steam tables, and side service stands with hot and cold foods. Arranges food items for regular and modified diets.
