Depending on the program selected for, a successful candidate in this position will serve as a Senior Program Manager and utilize your expertise to provide management, integration, leadership, direction, coordination, day-to-day guidance implementation of activities within Assistant Manager for Operations (AMO), Assistant Manager for Programs (AMP), or Assistant Manager for Environment, Safety and Health (AMESH).

Conditions of Employment:

Duties

As a General Engineer/Physical Scientist, you will:

  • Serve as a technical expert in the management, direction, program coordination, and implementation of program activities within assigned organization in support of its overall mission.
  • Review and interpret headquarters guidance, program plans, and strategies.
  • Regularly communicate with National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Department of Energy (DOE) entities, NNSA laboratories, and external customers and stakeholders on all initiatives and issues impacting Livermore Field Office (LFO), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), their mission, and the broader NNSA mission.
  • Provide expert technical assistance and consultation services to a wide variety of DOE and NNSA management officials on LLNL-related matters.
  • Develop and implement a plan of action to resolve identified issues. In doing so, perform the necessary trend analyses on performance of assigned activities.
  • Apply a wide range of methods to analyze and improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and makes sound technical, business, and political judgment regarding potential effects that can impact the physical environment, health and safety of workers, and the general public, the operation of facilities, individuals and information, the engineering, planning and construction of facilities, and the management of assets.
