About the Position:
This position is located within the Enviromental Management Office at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP). MCAAP was originally commissioned as the Naval Ammunition Depot McAlester on May 20, 1943 and began its first production in September 1943. In October 1977 the naval facility was transferred to the Army under the Single Manager for Conventional Ammunition act. MCAAP is a government-owned/government-operated facility. Our operating hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We are closed on federal holidays. The mission of MCAAP is to produce and renovate quality conventional missile ammunition and ammunition-related components, perform engineering and product assurance in support of production, and receive, store, ship, demilitarize and dispose of conventional and missile ammunition and related items.

For the GS-07 Grade Level:
Experience performing a variety of technical support work in connection with the operation of environmental protection programs; experience assisting higher level environmental protection personnel in an area of environmental protection; experience performing independent assignments in a prescribed segment of an environmental protection program. The experience must show the ability to apply established instructions, rules, regulations, and procedures relevant to environmental protection activities.
For the GS-09 Grade Level:
Experience that required knowledge of the established principles, concepts, and methods of environmental protection program work; skill in applying this knowledge in performing a variety of duties involving the management, coordination, monitoring, oversight, or evaluation of routine programs, projects, or activities exercising judgment and a broad perspective in applying a thorough knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices relating to environmental protection programs.
For the GS-11 Level:
Experience that involved the management of environmental protection programs including; experience managing, administering, and coordinating the development, implementation, and review of environmental compliance programs; experience working with statutes, regulations, permit/licensing requirements, precedent decisions governing environmental operations used in planning, implementing, and monitoring local environmental compliance programs, and environmental management systems; experience working with programs such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, and various other environmental protection programs.
