BLM is offering a dynamic and energetic student the opportunity to gain valuable work experience serving as a Student Trainee (Administrative) in the Montana State Office, North Central Montana District, Lewistown Field Office, Duty Station: Lewistown, Montana. This is a temporary student internship opportunity under the Pathways Program. The major objective of the Pathways Program is to employ students, giving them a chance to work in a Federal agency and resume or continue their education without interruption caused by financial pressure. The student selected for this position will be asked to work part-time while school is in session and full-time during the summer months and possibly during any period when the school is officially closed. The student must be able to physically report to the Lewistown duty location to fulfill the duties of this position.
This is a temporary, not-to-exceed 1 year, excepted service appointment under the BLM Pathways Internship Program that may be extended incrementally based on Agency needs. The Agency (BLM) may, but is not obligated to, convert the student to a term or permanent appointment in the competitive service without further competition. This option will only be considered under rare and authorized circumstances.
