The Defense Contract Management Agency serves as the independent eyes and ears of the Department of Defense (DoD) and its partners, delivering actionable acquisition insight from the factory floor to the front line around the world. We are an independent combat support agency within the DoD. We are the Department's contract manager, responsible for ensuring Federal acquisition programs, supplies, and services are delivered on time, within cost and meet performance requirements.

Temporary/Term Information:

If you are a current permanent DCMA Employee employed at a "lower GS grade": You will be considered for a Temporary Promotion opportunity. A temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years. A temporary promotion may be made permanent without further competition.

If you are a current permanent DCMA Employee employed at a "the same GS grade or higher": You will be considered for a Detail opportunity. A detail may be made and/or extended in 120 day increments. A detail may be made permanent without further competition.

Non-DCMA Permanent Employee Applicants: You will be considered for a Temporary Position Not to Exceed 1 year, your appointment may be extended up to a maximum of 2 years. This position may be made permanent without further competition to those candidates that have non-competitive status.

Duties

  • Serves in the Protocol office within the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Participates in a wide range of command support activities that vary in scope and content and are of direct concern to the DCMA Senior Leaders.
  • Involved in planning all DCMA conferences, ceremonies such as retirement and award, VIP visits and other social functions.
  • Participates in special projects.
  • Prepares post function reports evaluating effectiveness of arrangements and proposed recommendations for future use.

  • Business travel required 5% of the time.
