This Dietitian position is located in Nutrition and Food Services and is not a bargaining unit position. This is a permanent intermittent position and the salary will be prorated based on hours worked. The work schedule varies.
Note: The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will recommend the grade and salary for new appointments.

The position requires intermittent walking and standing. Occasionally, duties may require the movement of audio-visual equipment charts and arrangement of classroom areas, and walking during meal rounds when assigned to the inpatient units. Most of the work is sedentary, involving assessing and educating patients, and documenting nutrition care plans. Use of computer keyboard and mouse to access patient data and record patient encounters is a frequent part of the work and happens intermittently during the day.

Education and Supervised Practice: The individual must have earned a bachelor's degree from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalent and fulfilled each of the following criteria:
Individuals who have earned college and/or university degrees outside the United States and its territories also must have their transcripts evaluated by a foreign transcript evaluation service to determine if their degree is equivalent to a degree granted by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States. Validation of a foreign degree does not eliminate the need for verification of completion of didactic program, dietetic internship, or coordinated program requirements. The completion of ACEND didactic program requirements and at least a bachelor's degree from a U.S. regionally accredited college/university or foreign equivalent are necessary for eligibility to enter an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program.
Registration/Certification: All applicants must be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) the credentialing branch of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics formerly known as the American Dietetic Association (ADA). (Must be uploaded with Application)

GS-11 Dietitian (Full Performance Level): At least 1 year of experience as a registered dietitian and must demonstrate the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition positions. Specialized experience includes but are not limited to: Demonstrated experience in clinical practice (i.e. in an inpatient setting) with one on one nutritional counseling performed in a clinical setting; demonstrated experience with geriatric/adult populations; ability to practice independently while serving as an important member of an interdisciplinary team; ability to plan, direct and coordinate all nutritional care in conjunction with team members; experience with development and delivery of educational programming in group settings; and use of evidencedbased approach to develop, menus, care plans and nutritional care of clients. Education: Equivalent to 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited university or college in the field of dietetics or closely related field.
