The Department of Justice (DOJ), Security and Emergency Planning Staff (SEPS), Justice Protective Service (JPS), is seeking to hire a Physical Security Specialist. SEPS has the responsibility for the establishment, operations, implementation, enforcement and maintenance of policy concerning personnel, information, physical, computer and telecommunications security, and emergency preparedness and civil defense for the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The incumbent is responsible for carrying out the functions and exercising the authority of the Department Security Officer in administering within the Department the security regulations prescribed by Executive Orders, directives, and regulations.

To qualify for the GS-11: you must possess at least one of the following: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties 1) Experience planning and implementing physical security protective methods and procedures, systems, and devices 2) Experience conducting research of new technologies as they relate to physical security and emergency management plans. 3) Experience assisting with management to develop security policies and guidelines. 4) Experience conducting security briefings.
Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements for consideration.
All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
