    NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.  Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

    REMARKS: This position is being advertised as an indefinite appointment and applicant selected may be released at any time, and advised of his/her rights and benefits to which entitled. In the event a permanent employee is accepted for this indefinite position, there will be a change in their tenure from permanent to indefinite. Indefinite appointments may be made permanent at a later date without competition.

    This position may be located in any major organization within the Army National Guard (ARNG).  Its purpose is to provide technical support for budget analysis and budget administration.

    DUTY LOCATION:  Recruiting & Retention, Fort Pickett, Blackstone, VA 23824

    EMPLOYMENT STATUS:  Excepted Service Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (Not to Exceed E6/SSG)


    GROUP I -All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (Not to Exceed E6/SSG) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.

    GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (Not to Exceed E6/SSG), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.

    MILITARY CRITERIA:  Applicant must be qualified and eligible for the MOS of: 92A, 92Y, 92Z, 00F; E CMF: 36.

    MILITARY ASSIGNMENT:  Applicant selected for this military technician position must occupy a military assignment in the Virginia Army National Guard that ensures proper grade, unit, and MOS prior to placement.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Develops and recommends procedures, objectives and processes pertaining to preparation
    and execution of the organizational budget. Ensures timely submission of budget estimates by staff officials. Reviews and consolidates budget estimates, taking into account issues, problems and conflicts within the budget program. Persuades officials to revise estimates that do not conform to established guidelines or requirements. Maintains an accurate record of incoming and outgoing funds. Provides ongoing analysis and evaluation of budget status to ensure priorities and mission objectives are achieved. Prepares and updates status reports. Reviews, edits and ensures accuracy of reports prior to release to management officials. Ensures management officials and budget committee is provided current program status. Provides information and guidance on procedures, forms and documentation to support budget estimates. Informs officials of current guidelines for preparation of estimates. Ensures budget reports are submitted promptly and that fund usage meets statutory and regulatory requirements.
