The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. (IAW TPR 303, 24 August 2005)

 

Army National Guard Army Aviation Support Facilities (AASF)

Military technicians, employed at the Army National Guard Aviation Facilities, Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD), are militarily assigned to the table of distribution and allowances (TDA) for that organization. Personnel, employed at the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF), Army Aviation Flight Activity (AAFA), and Army Aviation Operating Facility (AAOF), are militarily assigned to compatible positions in any aviation unit that full-time support members are employed to support. MILITARY GRADE:

MINIMUM MILITARY GRADE: E5

MAXIMUM MILITARY GRADE: E7

Grade inversion within the full time workforce in not permitted. The military grade must not exceed that of the supervisor. Members applying for this position and exceeding the maximum military grade listed on this job announcement MUST submit a statement in writing that they are willing to take an administrative reduction in grade to the advertised military grade on the job announcement for which applying. Applicants who exceed the military grade will NOT be placed into the technician position until they have been administratively reduced to the military grade on the job announcement.

Duties

This position is located at the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF), Training Operations Branch. The purpose of the position is to instruct and perform flight crew work supporting heavy multi engine aircraft, and to provide assistance to the pilot in the overall operation of the aircraft. Primary aircraft include CH 54 Tarbe medium-lift helicopter, CH 47 Chinook medium-lift transport helicopter, and/or UH 60A Black Hawk transport helicopter. The aircrafts missions include combat service support airlift for movement of heavy supplies, vehicles, aircraft and equipment, troop air assaults, extractions and resupply of troops,   and aeromedical evacuations, search and rescue, ice break, mine sweep, and air support of national disasters and state contingencies.
