NPPD leads

This announcement is issued under the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) to
recruit for positions for which there is a critical hiring need. Selectee(s)

At the full performance level of this position, duties will include:
New employees must serve a one year probationary period.
To qualify for the GS-09 position you must have one of the following:
A. Have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies that includes 1) maintaining a searchable archive of previous security alerts and/or threats (Attention to Detail); 2) assist in the preparation of implementing security requirements across information technology disciplines to meet regulations (Customer Service); 3) assist in identifying need for changes based on new security technologies or threats (Problem Solving); and 4) reporting potential security problems and/or threats to a senior IT specialist (Oral Communication). In addition, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) reviewing security incident response policies for potential security threats and risks. B. Have successful completion of a Master's degree or two (2) full years of graduate level study (36 semester units or the number of units your school uses to describe two graduate years of academic study) leading to a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, if related, in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
To qualify for the GS-11 position you must have one of the following:
A. Have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies that includes 1) evaluating existing IT solutions to ensure adherence to IT security requirements (Attention to Detail); 2) implementing security requirements across information technology disciplines to meet regulations (Customer Service); 3) assessing new systems design methodologies to improve software quality (Problem Solving); and 4) presenting recommendations for resolution of security problems and/or threats to management officials during meetings, workshops, and/or conferences (Oral Communication). In addition, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) identifying the need for changes based on new security technologies, threats and/or risk. B. Have successful completion of a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or equivalent doctoral degree, or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education (54 semester units or equivalent) leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, if related, in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
To qualify for the GS-12 position you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies that includes 1) collaborating with other officials to define the scope and level of detail for IT security plans and policies for the division (Attention to Detail); 2) implementing security requirements across information technology disciplines to meet regulations (Customer Service); 3) assessing and recommending new systems design methodologies to improve software quality (Problem Solving); and 4) presenting security requirements and/or issues to management officials during meetings, workshops, and/or conferences (Oral Communication). In addition, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) evaluating and approving change request, and security plans and policies based on new security technologies, threats and/or risk.
