 About the Position:

This position is located in Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, of the US Army Medical Command. The incumbent will work in the Radiology Department, performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations of patients to aid in the diagnosis of disease or injury.

Duties

As a Medical Instrument Technician, you will perform a wide variety of complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations of patients to aid in the diagnosis of disease or injury. You will receive and review requests from physicians for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations of patients; analyze the condition at issue and determine the procedures and equipment necessary to best meet the needs of the individual case. Receive and position patient for examination; explain procedures and actions to allay fears and secure maximum cooperation. Assist radiologist or physician in reading or evaluating results. Independently perform complex computerized 3D and 2D MRI scanning of the head and/or body. Confer with radiologist to establish the requirement for non-standard examinations. Advise radiologist of the result of examination and provide preliminary diagnostic evaluation. Perform operator level maintenance and care of equipment.
