Location: Pentagon Athletic Center
This position is for the General Manager at the Pentagon Athletic Center located in Arlington Virginia. This is a Nonappropriated Fund Regular Full-Time (RFT) position that includes NAF Benefits, with 40 guaranteed work hours per administrative week. The normal shift will be 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. The incumbent may be required to work during inclement weather, before and/or after scheduled work hours, special events and weekends, etc.

Serves as General Manager for the Pentagon Athletic Center (PAC), a
non-appropriated fund activity; and is responsible for the leadership,
direction, management, productivity, and cost effectiveness of the PAC and its
annex locations in the National Capital Region. Oversees general operations,
financial and information systems, contract acquisition, membership, marketing,
maintenance, and the athletic and aquatic programs. Reports to the Director,
Support Services-Washington (SS-W), a directorate of U.S. Army Headquarters
Services, Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army.
Develops mission requirements and objectives; reviews status and
progress; provides management guidance and direction; and provides advice and/or
decision on policy matters. Applies an extensive knowledge of management
concepts, principles, and practices to subordinate supervisors and
non-supervisors. Formulates instructions and directives necessary to manage
subordinate managers and operate a fluid, profit-generating business activity
with a large customer base. Determines required personnel and approves employee
schedules to ensure adequate coverage during business hours.
Serves as fund manager. Accountable for receipt and safeguarding of cash and fixed assets, and authorizes disbursement of cash. Assures implementation of published policies and procedures. Keeps the SS-W Director fully apprised of the financial condition of the organization. Responsible for the Management Internal Control Program; evaluating programs in terms of profitability, customer satisfaction, and mission accomplishment. Reviews financial reports, estimates projected costs, and develops activity financial plans. Receives and evaluates contract proposals and monitors the procurement of all supplies and equipment.
Performs a full range of supervisory duties and exercises personnel management responsibilities. Performs other duties as required.

Work experience directly related to the duties to be performed, and executive knowledge and ability of the caliber described above. Documented experience must have been equivalent in complexity and difficulty to the next lower grade/level.
Highly Preferred- In addition to the above minimum qualifications, requirements highly preferred applicants process prior Non-Appropriated Fund Instrumentality (NAFI) experience; specifically managing large-scale, profit-generating business units. Qualifying experience may reflect diverse morale, welfare and recreation work across category A, B and C Programs.
