The selectee for this position serves as a Staff Accountant in the Programs and Resources Department of the Marine Corps Logistics Command located in Albany, Georgia.

The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

Duties

·   Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.

·   Provide accounting/audit follow up to support comptrollers and management in addressing adverse audit findings and recommendations.

·   Consult with management to furnish accounting, operational, logistical, and/or financial advice and make recommendations to solve problems and clarify objectives.

·   Promulgate financial management policies within the organization to ensure appropriate procedures are developed and implemented.

·   Provides expert planning and program management responsibility activities that will enable optimal execution, prioritization and coordination of the financial management (i.e. accounting, auditing, and accountability) related work efforts.
