    The incumbents position is located in the Surgical Services of the Boise VAMC. Nurse Manager is responsible for drafting and providing feedback on policies and procedures, evaluating management system efficiency and effectiveness, supervising nursing staff assigned to the surgical services, instituting clinical practice changes based on the current evidence and research,  procuring capital equipment, managing and analyzing surgery performance data, and evaluating and developing personnel. The incumbent administers approval/disapproval of leave requests, personnel actions, and other technical advice on all issues. He/she closely monitors and guides the department's Performance Evaluation and Improvement program activities.  The Nurse Manager is ultimately responsible for all nursing activities that occur within the department and will ensure that comprehensive care is provided to eligible beneficiaries in a safe, efficient and therapeutic environment. The incumbent works for the Associate Chief Nurse-Specialties but collaborates with and advises the Chief of Surgical Services and the Chief of Anesthesia. 

    Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
