TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION : As allowed by OPM guidelines, the Massachusetts Air National Guard follows a three tier advertisement process. The three tier process will be as follows:
Tier I: All current MA ANG tenure 1 and 2 technicians and MA ANG permanent AGRs
Tier II: All current MA ANG members, to include tenure 3 and tenure 0 technicians, traditional guardsmen, and temp AGRs
Tier III: All individuals eligible for immediate enlistment into the MA ANG
*This is an indefinite position, tenure 3, with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Any permanent military technician who is selected for this position will become tenure 3. The selectee will receive the same benefits and entitlements as the tenure 1 employee, but will be considered tenure 3 for purposes of reduction in force. If a permanent resource becomes available, incumbent may be converted to a permanent appointment without competition.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Massachusetts Air National Guard. Work involved in rebuilding, overhauling, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, calibrating, aligning and maintaining integrated electronic systems. Analyzes and evaluates complete system operation using a variety of general and specific test equipment, self-test and self-calibration computer programs and/or technical data containing schematic diagrams, signal flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, test procedures, program information and mathematical formulas. Accomplishes checks, testing, repair, inspection, modification, programming, reprogramming, mating, adjusting, alignment and analyzing of electronic integrated systems. Recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data and maintenance procedures.
