    Responsibilities

    This position is located in the Police Service at the Boise VA Medical Center. Duties include but aren't limited to:
    •Uses knowledge of a body of basic or commonly used laws, rules, regulations, procedures, and operating methods.
    •Performs fixed post and patrol assignments.
    •Responds to alarms.
    •Performs routine vehicle patrol of grounds and buildings.
    •Performs preliminary criminal investigations of serious crimes to include felonies, misdemeanors, petty offenses and files reports.
    •Responds to and investigates all fire, intrusion, panic, and disaster alarms.
    •Takes appropriate action to preserve life, aid injured, safeguard property and restore order.
    •Provide assistance at an accident scene and determine if any criminal or civil law has been violated.


    Work Schedule: 7:00am to 7:00pm or 7:00pm to 7:00am

    Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.  Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
