    This position provides direct and comprehensive primary, preventive and therapeutic medical and nursing care to individuals across the lifespan at the Fort Belknap Service Unit in Harlem or Hays, Montana. The incumbent reports to the Clinical Director.
    The IHS is required by law to give absolute preference to qualified applicants who meet the Secretary of the Interior's definition of Indian for appointment to vacancies within the IHS in accordance with established IHS policy as outlined in the Indian Health Manual Part 7, Chapter 3.     • Assesses, plans and provides comprehensive and therapeutic medical care.
    • Interprets test results and analyzes all collected data, discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to identify all stages of serious physical, emotional or mental problems, and to prioritize health care needs.
    • Formulates and implements plan of care which may involve various treatment modalities, prescribing medications, consultation with other health care providers, and referrals.
    • Collaborates with other health care professionals to develop treatment protocols, standards of practice and policies.
