This position is located in the Division of Political History in the Department of History, Office of Curatorial Affairs in the National Museum of American History (NMAH). The incumbent works in collaboration with the subject matter curator and/or the division chair or deputy chair in managing and researching the collections. The incumbent’s responsibility is the political history collections, which are large and varied, including a wide range of sizes, object conditions, storage requirements and materials, such as costume, textiles, ceramics, paper, campaign pins, and sculpture.Learn more about this agency
Manages and maintains the division’s visual collections and resources.
Carries out specialized research in the field of General Political History and the political history associative collection.
Develops temporary exhibits and participates in the development of large, long-term exhibits; may serve as exhibit collections, graphics, or installation manager.
Responds to oral and written inquiries in the field and to the public.
