The position is located in the Smithsonian Institution’s Office of Visitor Services. The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum and research complex, consisting currently of 19 museums, galleries, the National Zoological Park, and nine research facilities. The Office of Visitor Services (OVS) is the principal office at the Smithsonian responsible for understanding, designing and improving all stages of a visitor’s journey, from planning, to visit and post-visit experiences.

- Assists in managing the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Center, including: troubleshooting digital interactives, monitoring visitor accessibility, and identifying areas within the public spaces that require attention.
- Serves as a liaison between the Visitor Center, departmental staff and visitor experience teams at other Smithsonian museums to distribute various brochures.
- Assists in answering inquiries from the general public received via email, web chat, or in written correspondence.
- Performs other clerical and administrative duties and projects including, but not limited to, copying, developing graphs and charts, collecting data, and creating reports and presentations.
