Duties

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled in any of the following series, GS-0101, GS-0401, GS-0807, GS-0810, or GS-1301, depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Position serves as the Regional Planning Officer directing water resources management planning and modeling activities in support of regional projects.
-Manages the Division’s preparation of multipurpose integrated resource management plans for the development and use of water, land, and power resources within the Region.
-Directs the investigation and appraisal of resources and requirements, taking into account the area’s recreational aspects, fish and wildlife resources, water quality, drainage requirements, flood and pollution control, and sediment problems.
-Develops policy, including Regional supplements to Reclamation Instructions, and Regional guidelines for processing planning documents and advises management on Regional planning issues.
-Establishes and maintains partnerships with Federal, State, other public and private agencies interested and involved in the conservation and development of water resources associated with agricultural, industrial, and urban areas.
-Represents the Regional Director on a variety of planning-related interagency or Bureau-wide committees and task forces, and at meetings with other federal and state agencies and outside groups.
-Utilizes subordinate supervisors to plan, schedule, assign, set and adjust short-term priorities for work activities for an assigned staff of professional, technical and administrative personnel.
