    The VA Black Hills Health Care System (VA BHHCS) is located in the beautiful Black Hills of Western South Dakota.     We are currently seeking a Electrician position.    VA BHHCS is a multi-campus health care system, with approximately 1100 employees, providing primary care, acute medicine, surgery, behavioral health, nursing home and domiciliary care from medical centers located at Fort Meade and Hot Springs, South Dakota as well as a staffed Community Based Outreach Clinic in Rapid City and numerous contracted and staffed clinics in Western South Dakota, Northern Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming.

    Responsibilities

    Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

    *Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical circuits, PLC's and other controls, transfer switches, transformers, motors, emergency generators, elevators, refrigeration, air conditioning, kitchen and laundry equipment, and other electrical equipment.

    *Have a working knowledge of National Electric and other codes.

    *Repair and install electrical equipment according to the best accepted standard practices.

    *Ability to install and splice high and low voltage cable.

    *Operate skillfully a wide variety of hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade in a safe manner.

    *Insures that the tag-out lockout system is used when working on an electrical circuit or piece of equipment.

    *Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints.

    *Ability to lay out projects and install raceways.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 - 4:30 PM
