NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIREDThis is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

This position is a commissioning opportunity for any enlisted applicant that earned a 5-level or higher in a contracting (6C0X1) Air Force Specialty Code.

Selection and placement of enlisted personnel is the position is contingent on selectee meeting all requirements for the Air Force's Commissioning program.

 Selected Employee must accomplish all requirements within 24 months as employment will become subject to termination for not meeting Conditions of Employment.

Open to current members and those eligible for membershipin the Arizona Air National Guard, in the rank of SSgt/E5-MAJ/O4.

This job announcement is for employment as an Arizona Air National Guard Technician; a Federal/ Excepted Civil Service position. This is a dual-status technician job whereby you are required to maintain active membership in a National Guard unit/wing and are required to wear the military uniform at the workplace.


This position is located at the 161st Air Refueling Wing, Phoenix, AZ, in the Purchasing and Contracting Division in the ANG Base Contracting Office. This is a National Guard Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a project manager and lead contract specialist. This position provides sound business advice in the planning and execution of pre-award and post-award functions, using a wide range of common contracting methods and contract types, to assist in the procurement of standard or specialized services, commodities, and/or construction within an operational contracting office.
