This position is located in the Department of Entomology, National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), and is supervised by a Research Entomologist, the Collections Manager, or the Collections Information Manager. - Performs collections management work in the scientific field of entomology using terminology used to describe and classify insects and other terrestrial arthropods.
- Performs collections activities that include, most importantly, the handling, preparation, and sorting of specimens and that also include registration, loans of collections, assisting users of the collection, and interfacing with the NMNH Biorepository.
- Works with Department of Entomology researchers to generate molecular data from the molecular collections.
- Labels collection objects and uses NMNH, LAB, and Departmental information management systems to organize collections.
