    This is a term appointment position for a Metal Forming Machine Operator located in the Manufacturing Coining Division, which is physically located in Denver, CO. This position temporarily assists with numismatic projects during periods of high coining demands. Includes skills such as packaging, laboring and the adjustment and operation of several different types of high speed automatic and semiautomatic machines.

    As a Metal Forming Machine Operator, you will:

    • Perform maintenance tasks such as cleanup, greasing and oiling of equipment. Continually check the machines to assure that moving parts do not overheat, bind, or jam.
    • Perform various hand operations required or associated with the operation of the presses. Operate a one ton bridge or overhead crane to pick up, move and position boxes of coin blanks to fill hoppers. Move filled boxes of coins with material handling equipment.
    • Operate or assists in operating various equipment as required by production schedules, e.g. operate upsetting (milling) machines, counting and bagging machines, annealing machines, and coil weighing machines. Perform various operations in the receiving area such as operating forklift trucks and recording shipments.
    • May be required to operate a forklift (after training) with (2,000 - 10,000) pounds capacity to load or off-load precious metals, supplies, and or equipment. Possess and maintain training certificate on forklift operation and use. Conduct initial quality check of forklift before using the equipment, and refers any discovered problems to others for repair.
