The incumbent serves as a real-time electrical engineer for the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) power system real-time engineering function. The incumbent is responsible for conducting real-time, current-day and next-day transmission studies for the Bulk Electric System (BES) in the Upper Great Plains Region’s Western Area Upper Missouri West (WAUW) Balancing Authority Area (BAA) and the Western Area Upper Missouri East (WAUE) Transmission Operator (TOP) area. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining and trouble-shooting real-time tools availability and solution quality. The incumbent represents WAPA and/or participates in regional operations group activities. Incumbent provides real-time communication with system operators as well as neighboring entities. The incumbent adheres to FERC rules and regulations, NERC/MRO/WECC standards and WAPA and DOE policies, procedures and guidelines.

Travel Required
