    As a Pathways Intern, you will perform assignments designed to develop competencies in several occupational areas.
    This position is located in the Public Buildings Service (PBS). About PBS: We are the landlord for the civilian federal government. We manage over 374 million square feet of workspace for a million federal employees in 2,100 American communities. We own 1600 plus assets totaling over 183 million rentable square feet and manage 7,100 plus leased assets totaling over 190 million rentable square feet.     This position is being announced under the Pathways Student Internship Program. This Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students may be promoted up to the GS-09 level while in the Intern program, and students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service, up to grade GS-12 depending on the requirements of the position.     Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The overall program consists of working and continuing in a formal education program, with the possibility of permanent employment. The trainee works directly under general supervision with day-to-day training, direction and guidance provided by the supervisor, journey level employees and/or assigned coaches. The trainee will receive continuing experience in the overall operations of the division.

    The trainee will be introduced to the program responsibilities and operations of each Division, and may be given crosstraining assignments at both the regional and field office level. Will perform the day to day responsibilities and/or special, longer term projects associated with operational requirements involving all aspects of the Public Buildings Service, and will assume a greater variety of more complex duties designed to further experience and knowledge of business and administrative principles and processes common to the General Services Administration. Through specified rotational assignments and designated projects of gradually broadening scope, the trainee will further his/her experience in the program responsibilities of the various Divisions within PBS, and may also be given crosstraining assignments at the Field level and/or in other Services within GSA
