The Division Administrator serves as senior manager and principal representative of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) at the State level and is responsible for overseeing Federal-aid program delivery and providing direction to FHWA's partners and customers at the State and local levels. As a key member of the Agency's management team, the Division Administrator advances the Department of Transportation's (DOT) and the FHWA's transportation priorities in the State, and has authority for virtually all field-level programs, funding, and personnel decisions. Directs a multi-disciplinary professional staff, through subordinate supervisors, who provide program stewardship/oversight and technical and program assistance to FHWA's external customers.
This position is perfect for an experienced mid to late career Federal Highway Administration employee with Federal-Aid or Federal Lands Highway Program management experience.
This announcement establishes an open continuous (12 month) Standing Register for Program Manager (Division Administrator) positions. This Register will be used to fill Division Administrator positions as they become vacant. Duty locations will vary. The difference in the salary at the GS-15 level is determined by the locality pay in each location.
